About Us

Arapiles.net is a web space designed to inform people about rockclimbing at Mt. Arapiles (Djurid) in Western Victoria, Australia and to publicise the other resources of the nearby township of Natimuk and local area.

The site is run by climbers and has firstly a climbing focus. As a result there is pages on Arapiles, bouldering, the latest new routes and climbing news. There are two separate climbing magazines, one serious (www.arapiles.net/magazine) and one less serious (eTHE). For climbers planning a trip there is daily weather forecasts and general information.

As for Natimuk information, we have a guide to local businesses (including instruction companies and accommodation), many of which have their own page here or links to their page elsewhere. We can design and post your page here as well. See below.

We have a copy of the heritage trail pamphlet, which details the town’s history. There are also pages on non-climbing activities in the area, which include bushwalking, mountain-biking, fishing, birdwatching and others.

We also have a small online shop selling a number of essential climbing needs specific to arapiles, including guidebooks.

We do not have chat rooms, online guides or complete route lists nor extensive climbing links (although eTHE does have the latest cool climbing links). For other climbing resources, in Victoria and Australia we suggest you try the unrelated http://www.arapiles.com or for the best in world climbing photography Simon Carter's http://www.onsight.com.au.

There are a number of people who contribute, either directly or indirectly to this site or the town. (our resources page)

We would appreciate all feedback or contributions to the site. (email) Unlike a lot of website designers we have a life and as a result there is a slight delay in forcing changes and corrections so please be patient.

There are navigation bars to the left of most pages and text navigation bars along the bottom to help you move around.

So  how do I get listed here?

Most businesses of interest to visitors will be mentioned in the Natimuk section, if you are and don't wish to be - just let us know.
